With Einstein Bros. Bagels replacing the previous Applegate’s Deli, 1912 S. Brentwood Boulevard is now fully back in operation; Einstein Bros. opened Monday, and Dickey’s Barbecue Pit opened last week.Co-owner Mike Patel wanted to open in spring 2014, but a car running into the store in December 2013 put work behind schedule.
The only other Dickey’s in the area is in Valley Park, according to its website. Other Einstein Bros. are in Richmond Heights and Webster Groves. Both Einstein Bros. and Dickey’s cater.
Tuesday afternoon, on a visit to Einstein Bros., the bagel with shmear, and coffee was good, but the owner was still working out the wifi.
