An ‘Escape Room’ is set to open in Maplewood on Oct. 24. “We lock you in a room and throw away the key,” according to the Escape From St. Louis website.

Escape From St. Louis has a long term lease at 7403 Manchester, in Maplewood,

The Escape Room, essentially a form of entertainment where groups of from 2 to 10 will be trapped in a room and have an hour to solve puzzles, clues and challenges to escape, according to an email from the company.

It will open with two rooms.

The first room is being called, “A Ghost Story” where attendees have an hour to uncover a ghostly mystery and escape the room.

The other room is a competition room — two identical rooms where groups will compete to escape — being called “Trapped in Detention”. Teams are thrown back into high school detention and race to break out before the other class.

A third room with a rotating theme will be launched shortly after the other two (theme pending).

They hope to open by October 24, depending on construction. However if they are unable to start booking by that date they’re hoping to have an open house.

Maplewood Design and Review is due to review signs for Escape From St. Louis on Thursday.
