Baptismal records are a major resource for German research. Kathy Wurth, genealogical researcher and lecturer, will show examples of what you can find in the records themselves but will also discuss the practice and customs of the christening itself.

Other topics to be discussed will include: the role of the Godparents and how they were chosen, naming patterns, birth & superstitions, baptism rituals in the church, and deciphering information recorded in various church records. Kathy has over 30 years of experience and is the owner of a genealogy and heritage travel company.
