If you haven’t heard, we are going to be seeing a very rare occurrence on Monday, August 21st. Times will vary depending on your location, but we are fortunate at the Maplewood Public Library to be in the narrow path of “totality”. This hasn’t happened in this area since 1442 and won’t happen again until 2505. We will have a limited number of solar eclipse glasses for those who would like to share this historic event. You may use the open area outside the library. We will NOT be having any library activities, as such, but you may bring your own “pinhole” projectors, protective eyewear (NEVER look at an eclipse with the naked eye!), watches, maps, or whatever you would like to enhance your viewing experience.
Eclipse viewing glasses and instructions will be available while supplies last beginning July 31st.
