Wanda Kennedy Kuntz, author, music educator, and public speaker, grew up in Maplewood. Her family owned and operated a music store on Manchester for 45 years. Throughout its existence, Kennedy Music Store and School was a community hub. People of all ages gathered to take music classes, and Maplewood students stopped by after school to purchase the latest 45 and 33 records. Dance groups and instrumental groups performed in the streets of Maplewood and throughout our community.
Wanda brings a media presentation rich in Maplewood’s mid-century past -— reminding us today of the benefits of music and music lessons.
Books will be available for purchase on the evening of the presentation.
