Eating Smart • Being Active is a research-based nutrition, food safety and food resource management education curriculum used by University of Missouri Extension Family Nutrition Education Programs. Lessons focus on simple messages related to food and nutrition and give participants a chance to apply new information through interactive activities.

This interactive series offers lessons on label reading, using shopping ads, tips for eating from each of the food groups according to USDA MyPlate recommendations, food preparation and safety.

Lessons offer discussions that feature handouts that complement with the lesson, recipes and a sample of the recipe!  Participants who complete at least  6 out of the 8 lessons also receive a certificate of completion and additional learning enhancements throughout the series for participating!
