Father Kevin McKenzie was ordained a priest for the Legionaries of Christ at St. John Lateran Basilica in Rome in December, according to a press release from Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.
He is the son of William and Theresa McKenzie, longtime parishioners at Saint Mary Magdalen in Brentwood. Father McKenzie was baptized and received his First Holy Communion at Saint Mary Magdalen. He currently serves as chaplain at Royalmont Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio.
After the March 30 Mass, a reception was held in the school gym in his honor. All those who attended Mass had the opportunity to receive a special plenary indulgence granted by Pope Francis for the occasion.
