Mary, Good thought. Its about time that someone decides to invest in the property of the old Layton’s Restaurant. They were pretty good. I keep hoping for a new restaurant there. Building has been vacant since the early 2000’s. its about running a race with the old Schnucks at the corner of Hanley and Clayton Roads. I am with you, please bring a good restaurant to the old Laytons.
Yes, it’s hard to park there. But, heck, it’s nice to shop there. Park once and go to lots of good places without ever having to move my car. Good for Brentwood, good for the air, good for getting some steps for the day!
Tom and Mr. Completely obviously lots of people go there if it’s too crowded. Keep in mind the sales tax generated at the “crowded” facilities pay for lots of Brentwood services that other municipalities charge for. Empty parking lots don’t generate taxes, “crowded” parking lots do. People try to look at this as another great opportunity for Brentwood.
Mike, it’s IRONY. Of course a lot people go there and that’s why it’s crowded.
And Yogi Berra actually said it first. That’s why I put quotes around it.
I’m very excited about the new restaurant! It’s within walking distance of Brentwood Forest! That end of the parking lot isn’t usually full anyway. Except maybe in December!!
Than walk and avoid parking I can’t wait personally!!! Yeah First Watch Brentwood!! So excited it will be a busy store. This will Bring a ton of people here to shop also ?
Very exciting! Brentwood is a great walking community so all your concerns aren’t an issue. We were voted one of the top 10 places to retire in Forbes magazine for exactly that reason. People love Brentwood because everything is close and within walking distance. Thank you to planning and zoning and to are alderman and mayor for approving this.
Good! Although, I was hoping that they would have opened a First Watch in the Maplewood Deer Creek Shopping Center. There are tons of parking spaces, and it’s “down the street” from the one they closed in Webster Groves. The parking lot in the Brentwood Square is a challenge on most days…..
Tell them do open one up in Maplewood Deer Creek Shopping Center. Every business should take a lesson from Wallgreens, CVS, and the urgent care places and open up another First Watch really close to the next one. You get enough of them around and none of them will be too busy.
I love 40 S but am always surprised at how ignorant people can get on here. Usually the ones that complain the most never leave their yard let alone go to someplace crowded. And frankly if you are that negative on here I’m thrilled I won’t be sitting next to you at First Watch!
Too bad they cant put something like this in the old Layton’s location.

Yes parking will be the biggest problem. They should find the better place for considering parking for people.i mean customers. Well let see.

Terrible location choice. That area is a nightmare and I will avoid it at all costs.

Brentwood Square? ‘Nobody goes there anymore, it’s too crowded”.
Brentwood: Home of small parking lots with small parking spaces and 10% sales tax!
It was posted as a humorous comment. Not meant to be taken as a serious comment. It’s called irony.
