At least part of the new construction in the 9600 block of Manchester Road, on the north side, is planned to be a Bouyant Spa, Rock Hill Alderman Philip Scherry told 40 South through Twitter (@pscherry78) recently.
It’s set to open in early 2017, according to the Bouyant Spa website.
Bouyant Spa is a float spa, using float tanks. From the website:
…approximately 80% of the gravity we usually feel is no longer affecting our body. We use a large portion of our mental and physical resources counteracting the force of gravity on a moment to moment basis, and the relief of this effort leaves our body with a surplus of energy and processing power at its disposal. When left with this abundance, our body spends its efforts on resting, recuperating, and healing anything that needs attention. In addition to this, the gravity-reduced environment allows our body to decompress, especially throughout the joints and spinal column.
