A former manager of the Maplewood CVS pharmacy has been indicted by a federal grand jury for embezzling more than $30,000, the St. Louis Business Journal reports. Demetrius Neal, 27, is charged with processing false return claims of items never purchased by customers.

Neal faces one felony count of unauthorized use of an access device at the Maplewood pharmacy, the Associated Press reports.

If convicted, Neal could face up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, the St. Louis business Journal reports.

The Maplewood CVS pharmacy opened in October 2012.

  1. At 27 years old, this person was more comfortable ignoring moral values and seeing what he could get away with by stealing. How deeply saddening this is. Maplewood is a fine community. I am sorry it happened there, but it could easily been anywhere.

Sorely eroded values seems to be eating away our rich history of goodness and kindness, fairness, sense of neighbor, caring for our elderly and infirm neighbors so they can remain in their own homes and extending a helping hand. m.
