The former Alex Waldbart Florist building, at 7000 Clayton Road, is undergoing asbestos remediation in preparation for demolition, which is to start next week according to Total Access Urgent Care employee Joe Godfrey.
Alex Waldbart Florist moved to 7801 Clayton Road this month. It closed in Richmond Heights at the end of 2017.
Godfrey said limited parts of the building will be salvaged.
The new Total Access Urgent Care is due to open in September.

Tear down all the historic buildings that give the neighborhood character. Great idea!
What a waste of a lovely building. I appreciate salvaging parts, though, rather than sending it all into the landfill.
All that lovely asbestos
What a disaster! Who needs another Urgent Care?!!
There is LITERALLY an urgent care 2 blocks away. Not to mention a hospital 2 blocks away the other direction. So sad what they have done with this area since I was growing up here.
