Friday the 13th Maplewood police calls: urinating in the woods man tells cops

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, June 13

  • Police arrested a 61-year-old male employee for an internal theft at a Maplewood Commons business.  The suspect was charged with stealing over $500 through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Bond was set at $10,000.
  • Police arrested a 48-year-old man for stealing approximately $390 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police responded to the 2500 block of Circle Drive for a reported suspicious person in the backyard of a residence. Before police arrived the man left the premises, however police found him a short distance away. The subject told the officers he was unaware that he was on a resident’s property because he thought the property was part of the park. The subject further told officers that he was urinating in the wooded area. A records check on the 28-year-old man revealed active warrants through other jurisdiction.
  • Two juveniles were detained for stealing approximately $215 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. The case will be referred to the St. Louis County Family Courts.
