The storm that pummeled Maplewood Saturday night tossed crafters’ tents at the Art Outside fair at Schlafly Bottleworks, causing the event to be canceled Sunday. A fundraiser has been set up to help out the artists whose work was destroyed in the storm.
Zak Pottery has said that Schlafly has refunded all the artist fees from the show.
Our fundraiser for the @Schlafly Art Outside artists who lost everything when a freak storm destroyed booths and art is at $10,000! So grateful! But just a drop in the bucket when split 60+ ways. I’m a little confused. Why did the artists leave all their art and supplies out over night? Surely that’s something you’d want to secure before a vandal or mother nature comes by to ruin it?
