A sports grill featuring golfing simulators on big screens could be coming to Maplewood, from Chesterfield.
Tee’s Golf Grill closed in Chesterfield in July 2012, according to its Facebook page, and would like to reopen at 7401 Manchester Road, the former Monarch restaurant spot. Maplewood Planning and Zoning will consider the proposal at its meeting on Jan. 5.
Before it closed, Tee’s featured golf course simulators endorsed by the PGA Tour, where golfers played courses from around the world.
Planning and zoning will also consider a proposal for a new McDonald’s and a fitness studio. See the full planning and zoning agenda.
Besides the Post, and now the proposed Tee’s Golf Grill, just south on Sutton is The Wood, which I believe is very much a sports bar, for all intents and purposes. I completely agree with Dave, too.
Part of me is glad to see potential tenants for the former Monarch and Jive N Wail spaces. The rest is disappointed to see two pretty odd choices going in them, neither of which I think will be there very long.
If a golf-themed restaurant couldn’t make it in the Chesterfield valley, replete with doctors and golf-crazed suburban dads, why would it succeed in Maplewood? And a restaurant whose culinary point of view is based on a two-week Alaskan vacation and is intended to subsidize a theater hobby? I don’t get it.
I agree with David! The post is enough! How about a nice local restaurant that is family friendly.
Does Maplewood really need two sports bars within 100 feet (or so) of each other?
Hopefully the gift card issue can be answered at P&Z on Monday.
I would like to know how they resolved their Gift Card issue back in 2012 when they closed. And did they close this year in July or in 2012 as Facebook seems to show?
