When I was a kid growing up in Webster Groves my next door neighbor had two bee hives in his backyard. I never had any problem with the bees unless I stepped on one barefooted. Predictable outcome and learned to watch where I was walking very quickly. Can’t blame the bee for his reaction. There were even times I sat on top of the hives and dangled my legs down the front. The bees just flew in and out of the hive and never bothered me as long as I didn’t do something stupid. Bees are very important and also good neighbors. Just don’t aggravate them and all will be fine. If you are allergic to bee stings them I imagine you carry and EpiPen just in case anyway. Banning bees is shortsighted and based upon ignorance and fear.
