It’s a race for MRH board, incumbents only for Maplewood council

In Maplewood, only incumbents filed to run for city council in the April election. The process to file is different in Maplewood. Candidates are required to collect 50 signatures in their ward to run.

Karen Wood (Ward 1), Tim Dunn (Ward 2) and Barry Greenberg (Ward 3) will run unopposed. Mayor Jim White’s term expires in 2017.

Maplewood voters will also decide on Proposition K, a bond issue to build a new Maplewood Richmond Heights preschool, to reduce crowding at the ECC and elementary school, as well as provide more preschool classrooms.

Daniel O’Sullivan filed Tuesday to run for the Maplewood Richmond Heights Board of Education, so an election will be held for the two available positions.

O’Sullivan will run against incumbents Wesley Rob and Ralph Posley in a best-two-of-three race. This is a correction: this article previously stated Rob and Posley were the only candidates and there would be no election.

In Brentwood, voters will have four on the ballot for mayor, as well as choices for aldermen.
