Mark Ryan, a former pastor at Crossroads Presbyterian Fellowship, now a director at  Covenant Theological Seminary, said on Facebook on Wednesday: “To our friends and neighbors in Maplewood, MO, who share our love for and connection to Jim Claussen.

“Yesterday [Dec. 11], at approximately 12:45pm, Jim passed into the presence of God in whom he placed his trust. A well-known local figure and friend to many, Jim served in the United States Marine Corp, and was an Asst. Instructor at Heartland Ninjtsu dojo. He was, of course, also a ‘handy-man’ for many and a regular at ‘Steak n’ Shake’ and ‘Stone Spiral.’ Jim’s presence in our community and our individual lives will be greatly missed.

Mr. Claussen was interred at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Friday, Dec. 14.
