A memorial service is planned for John Wichmann, a well-known Maplewood man who traveled around town in a motorized wheelchair.
On Saturday, August 19 at 11 a.m. Concordia Lutheran Church in Maplewood (7291 Sarah Avenue) will hold a memorial service for John Wichmann. There will also be a free luncheon after the service in the church basement. All are invited to attend both the memorial and the luncheon.
According to Pastor Wood at Concordia Lutheran, John Wichmann was born on December 27, 1953. He was baptized at Concordia on April 11, 2004 where he was a member until his death on June 25, 2017. He was a blessing to the congregation at Concordia and to the whole community of Maplewood. The memorial will be a time to mourn over his death and yet rejoice in the hope of the resurrection of Jesus Christ which has been given to John and to us.
