Littering, pot, shoplifting in Maplewood: police

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Dec. 7

  • Police saw the driver of a motor vehicle discard a piece of trash from his vehicle in the area of Big Bend at Flora. Upon conducting a traffic stop the driver admitted his wrong doing and was issued a municipal summons for littering.

Tuesday, Dec. 8

  • Police were dispatched to a Maplewood Commons business for a larceny in progress. Police were able to locate the suspect who was in possession of approximately $300 in stolen computer software. The suspect was arrested for stealing under $500.

Thursday, Dec. 10

  • Police investigated a suspicious occupied vehicle in the 7300 block of Marietta Avenue. Police discovered a bag that contained what is believed to be marijuana inside the vehicle. Upon doing so, the suspect acknowledged ownership and was later issued a municipal summons for possession of marijuana under 35 grams.
  • Police arrested an adult male suspect for shoplifting from a business in the 7300 block of Manchester Road. The suspect was found to be in possession of approximately $90 in stolen alcohol.

Sunday, Dec. 13

  • Police began an investigation for property damage to an apartment door in the 7500 block of Manchester. This investigation is ongoing.
