Every Thursday night since May, Live Juke Joint Dueling Piano Bar has hosted the live taping of Late Night with Pascal, a variety show that airs on ABC.
Pascal Beauboeuf had been putting skits, songs and interviews with friends on YouTube with his production company, Beautiful Beef Productions, for seven years. He said some friends suggested he put it together for a late night show; he pitched it to ABC and they liked it.
Late Night with Pascal airs on ABC Channel 30 on Sunday nights (Monday morning) at 12:30 a.m. The live taping starts at 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
“I love entertaining people,” he said Monday in an interview at Stone Spiral in Maplewood. “It allows me to utilize all the things I know how to do under one roof. I do the comedy, I get to interview people, I sing on my show, and skits and all that.”
He said he likes the live aspect of the show. “When you’re doing something in front of a camera and you don’t have an audience you don’t know if it’s funny, if people are vibing with it or not,” he said. “I’m passionate about what I do. I like to entertain.”
