A 24-year-old man has been charged with the theft of a truckload of steaks from a  Brentwood business where he worked as a salesman.

Michael J. Mancil, of Cedar Hill, was charged last month with stealing 62 boxes of steaks, worth $1,178, from Iowa Steak Co. (8130 Brentwood Industrial Drive), according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Mancil admitted he had sold the steaks but then spent the money he instead of turning it in to the company.

On Dec. 30, Mancil signed out the steaks and took a company truck, like usual, but didn’t return at the end of the day. The company tracked the truck by GPS to Jefferson County, court documents say. His bail was set at $10,000. Read the full story in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
