Man charged with iPhone theft at Walmart

Chartez Daniels, 25, of St. Louis, was charged with stealing two Apple iPhones at the Maplewood Walmart, according to police are court records.

On July 15, Daniels used a screwdriver to remove the iPhones — valued at a total of $1,296 — from their displays. He hid the phones in his pocket, then walk out of the store without making any attempt to pay. The phones were recovered from under the passenger side front seat of his car. Daniels confessed to stealing the phones. He was held on $5,000 bond.
