Maplewood resident, and Boy Scout leader, Mark Langston, was recognized for his work recently for his contributions to area youths through Scouting.
He received the the Scouter of the Year Award at the annual Pathfinder Dinner for the St. Louis Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Langston attributed the award to his service as a Unit Commissioner, his years as Cubmaster for Pack 362 at MRH, serving as Advancement Chair for Boy Scout Troop 493 in University City and for his work to help start two new Cub Scout Packs in north St. Louis county.
“Personally, I am very proud of the work the Scouting program offers our youth and grateful that we were able to reach out to two schools in north county. It is heartwarming to see the enjoyment that the boys get form Scouting in our new Packs in north county. Scouting offers these youth experiences that they might have never been exposed to with school or any other program,” Langston said in an email.
