Maplewood officials broke ground Tuesday for Maplewood’s new $6 million firehouse, approved by residents passing Proposition F in 2014.
Nathan Wever, with general contractor S.M. Wilson, said the two buildings on the site will come down first, and work installing underground utilities on the north side of the site would be next. Maplewood City Manager Marty Corcoran said the new house is planned to open in mid-May 2017.
What’s the plan for the space that the fire department currently occupies?
The city manager says there are no plans at this time for the current fire department space, when the new one is completed.
