Business is growing for Maplewood business, Sole Survivor Leather, so owners Steve and Kay Rye began a search for a larger showroom with more inventory space. They found it at 7401 Manchester Road — the northwest corner of Manchester and Sutton — the business announced Sunday.
They’ve been in business since 1968. They moved to Maplewood (7312 Manchester Road) from University City in 2015.
The business is expecting to open in the new space on or before November 23, Black Friday this year.
The shop will continue to offer leather goods designed and made in house by Steve and Kay Rye and daughter, Annie Rye.
The larger showroom will also accommodate a new selection of leather jackets, gloves, Maruca textile handbags and accessories, European brand Giesswein boiled wool slippers, and sandals, in the spring, according to the press release.
Great news! So glad an established business will put down roots at that corner and staying in Maplewood.
Congrats to Steve and Kay! So glad you find Maplewood a good fit, and I’m looking forward to your new opening.
