The group of Maplewood residents learning about the workings of the city, last night had an introduction from Chief Terry Merrell, and a tour of the firehouse by Merrell and the five firefighters on duty.
The group saw the sleeping quarters, including the separate, small room where any loud-snoring firefighter sleeps. They heard a test alarm from East Central Dispatch, donned gear, and took turns holding charged fire hoses.
