The Maplewood City Council will consider two items concerning the west end of Marietta Avenue in both March meetings.
On Tuesday the council will most likely approve a stop sign on northbound Sutton Boulevard at Marietta Avenue for a 90-day trial. It had two unanimous readings at the previous meeting. Cars turning onto Sutton from Marietta have a limited sight distance, according to the agenda and residents’ comments, and it is hoped that a stop sign on Sutton will make turns onto Sutton from Marietta easier.

At the March 25 meeting, the council will hold a public hearing “on a request by Cory King for a full liquor license and Sunday liquor license for the proposed The Cellar (a tasting room) at 7373 Marietta Avenue,” according to a notice mailed to residents on Marietta Saturday.
7371-75 Marietta Avenue was apartments until it was recently rehabbed and put on the market for commercial use.
