Maplewood man convicted of child abuse; faces up to 7 years in jail

As reported in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, A Maplewood man has been convicted of abusing a child by burning a 6-year-old girl’s back with a cigarette three times in June 2014.

A jury on Thursday found Leon St. Cin, 35, of the 3200 block of Walter Avenue, guilty of a felony count of child abuse after a three-day trial in St. Louis County court. He faces up to seven years in jail.

  1. Seven years is simply not enough. This kind of depravity can’t be fixed by the justice system. I won’t be surprised if this guy is out in far less than seven.

  2. Actually, wouldn’t that be PRISON not jail? Prison is where one who is convicted is sent. Jail is where they are detained until convicted.
