Maplewood man, Ellis Athanas III, who was kidnapped from his home by a former local fitness executive and others in 2016 has sued his kidnappers, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Athanas was kidnapped from his home on Nov. 21, 2016, in an attempt to recover $15,000 and 24 pounds of marijuana that was stolen from a marijuana dealer working for former fitness executive Todd Beckman, according to Beckman’s guilty plea.
The lawsuit seeks the $3,000 ransom the parents paid, and for property the kidnappers took from Athenas’ father. It also seeks at least $25,000 for the assault of Athenas, and his parents for emotional distress.
