Maplewood candidate for mayor, Patrick Jugo said he was surprised and frustrated when he saw in 40 South that his candidate information didn’t appear in the online League of Women Voters guide, www.VOTE411.org.
His opponent, Barry Greenberg’s information was there. For Jugo, it said, ‘No Response Received’.
Jugo called the League of Women Voters office on Monday and was told they had no email or contact information so they sent him the request by snail mail. Jugo said he didn’t received it.
LWV volunteer Jan Scheurer told 40 South on Tuesday they do the best they can to reach all the candidates. Jugo said it was not “an indication of apathy or lack of attentiveness on my part.”
Jugo said: “My purpose for posting here is not to abuse or discredit, and definitely not to imply any impropriety, but is simply an attempt to repair my credibility and assure vigor and investment in this race in the eyes of the 40 South readers. Since contacting the League of Women Voters Monday morning, I have made my entries to their website which should be visible by hitting the link www.VOTE411.org.”
