Around 90 came to the Maplewood Richmond Heights theater Tuesday evening to hear candidates for mayor of Maplewood, Patrick Jugo and Barry Greenberg, debate in a League of Women Voters forum.
Both candidates were polite — not interrupting and not going over their time limits. They agreed on many questions, which came from the audience.
They were asked about Maplewood’s strengths and weaknesses. Greenberg said the weakness is there are no facilities for aging in place. He listed the school district, the business district, the housing stock and the young population as the strengths.
Jugo said Maplewood’s weakness is that it’s a transportation cut-through for commuters. He said its strength is its diversity.
