Maplewood police report arguments, thefts, DUI

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, July 7

  • Used tires valued at approximately $625 were reported stolen in the 3000 block of S. Hanley.  Police later identified and arrested  a 37-year-old male suspect.  The case has been forwarded to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in consideration of felony warrants.

Tuesday, July 8

  • Police arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested a 32-year-old woman for disorderly conduct in the 3500 block of Manhattan.
  • Police arrested a 22-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man for a drug violation in the 3400 block of S. Big Bend.

Wednesday, July 9

  • Police arrested a  54-year-old man on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Thursday, July 10

  • Police responded to the 7400 block of Zephyr Avenue for a reported domestic disturbance.  Two families members were arguing.  No arrests were made or charges filed.
  • Police are investigating a fraud at a Maplewood Commons business wherein two fraudulent checks were presented totaling approximately $1800.

Friday, July 11

  • Police arrested a 29-year-old man for a drug violation near a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police issued a 60-year-old man a summons for peace disturbance in the 2600 block of S. Big Bend.
  • Police responded to the 7500 block of Manchester for a reported domestic disturbance.  A man and woman had been arguing.  No arrests were made or charges filed.
  • Police arrested a 27-year-old woman for leaving the scene of an accident and driving while intoxicated which occurred in the 2600 block of S. Big Bend.

Saturday, July 12

  • Police responded to the 7500 block of Alicia Avenue for a reported suspicious vehicle and subjects. Witnesses told police two subjects associated with the suspicious vehicle were seen unlawfully entering a resident’s vehicle in the area. The suspicious subjects and vehicle fled the area before police arrived. Police discovered that the suspects pried open the door lock of the resident’s vehicle. Police further discovered discarded stolen property in the middle of the street that was tracked to another Maplewood resident who lives in the 7400 block of Richmond.  An investigation showed the same suspects broke into the vehicle on Richmond. Another vehicle was reportedly broken into in the 7200 block of Lyndover Avenue.
  • Police arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested a 31-year-old man and 27-year-old man on suspicion of stealing approximately $260 in merchandise from  a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested two 17-year-old men on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Sunday, July 13

  • In the early morning hours, police arrested a 47-year-old male suspect for driving while intoxicated in the area of S. Big Bend and Manchester.
  • Police responded to the 7400 block of Zephyr for a reported domestic disturbance.  An investigation showed a man and a woman had been arguing. The man left the residence before police arrived. No arrests were made or charges filed.
