Any update on how the victims are doing? Anything? I find it strange that three folks are shot and a police chase in a pretty quiet area and there’s nothing anywhere that I can find as follow up.
David – what do you want people to say? That we wish criminals didn’t live or spend time in our city? I don’t think it’s a question of priorities as much as it is about a citizen’s locus of control. I can’t stop people from shooting each other, but I and others can communicate our wishes publicly about what businesses we want or don’t want in our community. You’re comparing apples and oranges here.
So a chain restaurant wants to open a donut shop in Maplewood and the article gets numerous comments with people mostly angry about it, along with calls for action.
Then we have a gunfight and car chase in Maplewood but nobody says anything. I think that says a lot about our priorities.
