Maplewood Plan and Zoning is set to vote on a group home, a bar/restaurant and an auto detail business at its Oct. 5 meeting.
On the agenda:
- A request for a conditional use permit to allow a group home for mentally and/or physically disabled individuals at 3632 Manhattan Avenue. The L’Arche group — in Maplewood at 2900 Marshall Avenue since 2011 — would like to expand to a second home. The house has four bedrooms and is 13 years old. It was listed for $329,999. I live up the street and would welcome them in our neighborhood.
I hope they get the house!
L’Arche is an amazing international organization and I’m happy to see it grow in Maplewood. Here’s more info from the St. Louis community’s website: http://www.larchestlouis.org/
