The owners of a new record store in Maplewood — Planet Score — hope to open their doors this month, they said Friday. Joe Stulce and Tim Lohmann were at the store building structures to hold record bins.
The contents of their previous location, CD Reunion, in Hazelwood, have been unloaded into their new store at 7421 Manchester Road. Now they need to organize everything. “We already have all our movie section up, that was easy,” co-owner Tim Lohmann said.

They said they’ve heard lots of musicians live in Maplewood, “which is great for us. Most musicians like to buy music,” Stulce said. He said he’s known Al Swacker — guitar player, bartender at The Crow’s Nest and DJ at KDHX — for years.
They said they’ve been happy with the reception from their neighbors, even though they’re not yet open. They accepted an invitation from one of them to a Night Out Against Crime block party down the street last week. And Friday afternoon a woman down the street came in their back door looking for help for a “two-dude job.”
Best wishes on your new store in Maplewood. My family had a music store and school there for 40 years. I plan to visit you the next time I come back to Missouri for a visit.
Can’t wait! Welcome to the neighborhood, guys!
How about Classical Music?! Please!
Can’t wait for this store to open, I know where I’ll be spending my lunch hours (and money)! Congrats Guys!
I’m excited for these guys to open in Maplewood… Been going to CD/Record Reunion since I was a kid in NoCo. If Joe and Tim are reading this… any chance you’ll be adding new vinyl to the mix?
Absolutely! We will even special order. Let us know what you’d like to see.
