Living Room was granted an OK from Maplewood Planning and Zoning Tuesday to operate a coffee shop and bakery next to Bolyard’s Meat & Provisions, to open in the fall at 2810 Sutton Boulevard.

Nate Larson, one of the people behind Living Room, also Tuesday, announced a crowdsourcing campaign to raise start-up costs for the shop.

From the Living Room Indiegogo campaign:

We are seeking $15,000 to complete our start-up purchases. We still need things like an espresso machine, flooring for the kitchen, and materials to build a simple and stylish brew bar plus all the little things that make a coffee shop tick: mugs, cups, spoons, knives, plates, saucers, linens.

The campaign has donation levels from $5 (you get a ‘thank you’) up to $2,000 (private party for 20).

  1. I just moved into a new apartment in Maplewood and couldn’t be more excited for this place to open! I’ll be there for my 64oz growler in November! 🙂

  2. I’m excited to (hopefully) welcome a new small business to Maplewood. I say hopefully because it seems to be contingent on the success of the crowdsourcing campaign. I think this would be a welcome addition to the Black Cat Theatre building (currently under renovation) since it not only fills a vacancy, but most importantly because it extends the business scene farther south on Sutton. I hope other Maplewood residents share my views and offer assistance to the campaign! Good luck guys!
