Theresa Rose Boyet was honored at city hall, with her granddaughter Ava Prokop and daughter Laura.

At the Maplewood City council meeting Tuesday, Theresa Rose Boyet, born July 30, 1935, was honored with a proclamation by Mayor Jim White on the event of her 80th birthday. According to the proclamation:

Boyet moved with her family to 7253 Arsenal in 1950, and was elected the “beautiful Queen of the Junior-Senior Prom” and graduated from Maplewood Richmond Heights in 1953. She still loves to meet with friends and fellow MRH alums at their “MRH Group” lunches.

She is the mother of Laura, Lance and Erick Bryant; wife of Gene Boyet; and grandmother of Eliot and Ava Prokop. Her daughter Laura and granddaughter Ava attended the council meeting with her.

Also at the council meeting:

Due to the rainy June, Maplewood street repaving is behind schedule. The three streets north of MRH are being worked on. Martini Drive is expected to be finished by the time school starts on August 12. Gerhard and Oakland avenues will likely still be under construction.

Construction on the Ryan Hummert Memorial is currently on hold while marble is being delivered from Italy and India, though workers onsite on Wednesday said they’re waiting for granite, and don’t expect it for a couple months. They said they can still proceed with other parts of the memorial.

The city budget for fiscal year beginning July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016 was adopted. A front-end loader and a new street sweeper were mentioned as “significant” expenses expected in the next three to five years.
