Madosky Chiropractic receptionist, Angela Grispon, was a contestant on the National Public Radio quiz show Ask Me Another in April when the show came to St. Louis. The show was recorded in April at The Pageant.
Update: Grispon was notified by Ask Me Another that the St. Louis episode she was on will air Saturday, July 25 at 12 noon on 90.7 FM KWMU (St. Louis Public Radio), Madosky Chiropractic reported on Facebook.
Grispon has been the receptionist at Madosky Chiropractic since it opened at its new location at 2775 Big Bend in 2010.
She said she’s been listening to the radio show for a couple years. In February she heard that the show was coming to St. Louis so she bought tickets. The next week she heard they were accepting applications for contestants, so she applied.
“It was pages of stuff that you have to do so they can access your skill level for the kind of thing that they do,” she said. “It rated your skill level on things like geography, pop culture, TV,” she said. Part of it gave the first lines for books and she had to name the book. “It was really hard,” she said.
After that she had a 10-15 minute telephone interview to find out what her strong suits are, she said.
“They write the quizzes, then they pick the people they think will be best suited to that skill set (of each quiz). I said I was good with TV and anagrams, and I got one with TV and anagrams—it was really hard.”
Onstage in the final round, Grispon said her nerves got the best of her.
“I knew the answer. My friend calls it stress-lexia. I saw the words in words in my head, clearly, and I opened my mouth to say the words and said something completely different,” she said. “It was disappointing when you know the answer, and your body’s not cooperating with you.”
She couldn’t stay after the show, which she wanted to do to tell the show’s host, Ophira Eisenberg, that her name (Angela Grispon) anagrams to Ganglion Spare.
The show she was on originally was going to air on June 27, but now it’s scheduled for July 25, on 90.7 KWMU.
