Blue Devils baseball managed its first win over the Brentwood Eagles in at least four years, on Tuesday, according to a report in STLtoday.
MRH’s Zech Biship went all seven innings on the mound, allowing two runs and three hits while striking out 13. At the plate, a Biship home run scored two, as Maplewood Richmond Heights defeated Brentwood 3-2.
“He worked ahead all night,” MRH coach Jonathan Webb told STLtoday. “He had minimal three-ball counts. When he’s controlling the zone like that, it’s easy to play defense behind him.”
It was Webb’s first managing win over the Eagles, including several district playoff games. The Blue Devils and Eagles meet again on May 2 at Brentwood Park.
