For the first time in its 100+ year history, the iconic program of the Boy Scouts of America will be open to young women, BSA says on its website. MRH Troop 362 needs a total of five young women to move the process forward — three have signed up already.
The troop posted on Facebook: “BSA is a year-round program for boys and girls in fifth-grade through high school that provides fun, adventure, learning, challenge, and responsibility to help them become the best version of themselves.
“In Scouting, young men and women go places, test themselves, and have one-of-a-kind adventures that can’t be found anywhere else.
“MRH Troop 362 is now ready to begin accepting young women ages 11 through 17. So far, three young women have signed up, but the Troop needs at least five to move the process forward. Troop leadership is hopeful of adding the new members and submitting the necessary paperwork on February 1.
Anyone interested should contact MRH Troop 362 at [email protected] or call George McCandliss at (314) 341-6879.
Troop 362 meets on most Thursday evenings at the Maplewood Richmond Heights Elementary School, 1800 Princeton Place, in Richmond Heights.
Someone said that I should publish the MRH Girl Scouts policy on who they’re admitting also. Anyone know?
