Maplewood Richmond Heights booster club president, David Barton, reported Tuesday morning — several days after the district meet — that the second-place finishing girls team at the meet has been disqualified, leaving third-place MRH to move up to second.
Barton said he received the message from MRH cross country coach Ryan Rzeszutko that due to a newly discovered rules infraction, the second-place girls team has been disqualified, meaning the MRH girls are now district runners-up and will compete in the state meet this Saturday.

“This is a HUGE deal for us, as our girls have brought home the first XC District plaque in MRH history,” Barton said on Facebook. “I am beyond proud of our team. Please congratulate Angel, Liana, Kyla, Marija, and Edyth on this incredible accomplishment.”
The state meet is at Oak Hills Golf Center in Jefferson City.
I’m so proud of these young women. They have worked so hard!
