Maplewood Richmond Heights students Caroline Barron, Stella Henline, Anabel Parreno, Tamar Crump, and Stasya Jurascik were recognized this week by the American Association of University Women as STEM Young Women of Promise, according to the school.

The students were honored for their accomplishments in advanced science and math classes, as well as their commitment to helping others achieve STEM success.

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is the nation’s leading voice promoting equity and education for women and girls. Since its founding in 1881, AAUW members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day — educational, social, economic, and political, according to its website.
