Maplewood Richmond Heights baseball coach Jonathan Webb posted on Facebook about an end-of-season memento the team gave him:
Had a pretty cool end-of-season memento presented at our last team meeting today. Back story: We had been using the same indoor mound at MRH since my freshman year in 2003. I reminded our pitchers of this every year, which hopefully contributed to its longevity. This spring, however, the foam mound finally cracked and fell apart. Junior pitcher/master craftsman Drew Curtis took it home, examined the specs, and built a magnificent, plywood replacement that will surely outlast its predecessor. Drew, however, kept the rubber from the old mound, had the team sign it, and presented it to me today. Cool stuff.
