Due to budgetary cut backs and a prior scheduled out of town trip for the team Maplewood Richmond Heights wrestling coach, Cory Reichert, has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for the two MRH 2015 state finalists to make the trip to the Walsh Ironman Tournament in Ohio. It’s an invitational tournament, and they’ve been invited.
“It would allow them to showcase their talents on a national stage,” Reichert says in the fundraiser. “All the funds raised will go towards the trip. Funds leftover will go towards the program.”
Also in the GoFundMe description:
“In addition, Romelle Person, 2015 Missouri State Champion, has just entered the Super 32 tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina. It is the nation’s most famous and prestigious pre-season tournament.
“Also, the team would like to continue our yearly trip to Plattsburg High School as they are one of the best in Class 1. The competition there prepares us for the state tournament. Plus most of the teams there we will wrestle in the first or second round of the state tournament. Last season we finish 4th as a team with half a lineup.”

Is the gofundme still up? The link isn’t working and I could find it through a search. Thanks!
Checking on that, Caroline.
When is this tournament? How much time do they have to raise this money? As a community, we want to support our kids. This is a great way to show our respect for hard work and dedication. I’d love to know when the tournament is…
