The Brentwood Police Department has noted on its website that new lanes have been marked on eastbound Manchester road approaching Hanley Road.
The far left lane is for traffic to turn left to go north on Hanley Road. Previously there were two left turn lanes.
The middle two lanes are for eastbound Manchester Road traffic. The far right lane is now a right turn only lane to go south on Hanley Road.
I saw someone today turn left from the lane that used to be a left-turn lane but is now a straight ahead lane. That could get scary. I hope folks get used to the new lanes quickly.
I am happy that they are trying it. I go that way on Wednesday night. There are times that I need to wait for as long as 4 light cycles to turn. I think that it will help lower emission pollution at that stoplight. Thanks!
I think it will help immensely. Turning right in the outside lane, only allowed 4-5 cars to go east if many people were turning right, This should relieve some of the bottleneck.
Based on what I’ve seen with traffic there, it will help some. But they really need to widen that bridge to make for a better intersection.
