Maplewood Richmond Heights School Middle School principal, Michael Dittrich, announced Friday that the middle school’s 2015-2016 administrative intern will be John McCabe, who comes to MRH from Brentwood Middle School.
McCabe taught English Language Arts at Brentwood for the past eight years, and also served as the school’s summer school principal, according to MRH.
While at at Brentwood, McCabe
- Served as an elected member of his district’s Professional Development Committee for the past five years, two of which he has served as the chairperson for the entire distric.
- Spearheaded Brentwood Middle School’s Character Education Initiative using a tiered approach for implementation.
- Implemented a variety of initiatives aimed at raising academic standards, enhancing technology, and developing citizenship through an intentional approach of character building strategies.
- Co-authored the school’s State and National School of Character Award winning applications and is dedicated to the social and emotional development of all students.
