The Brentwood Parks and Recreation Department presented its first capital project for 2014, a new playground for Oak Tree Park, to the Public Works Committee Wednesday.
The design would feature a treehouse, two large shade structures with seating and two pieces of fitness equipment for adults.
The committee, of aldermen Andy Leahy, Keith Robertson and Maureen Saunders voted unanimously for the project, with a $250,000 maximum budget. The committee’s recommendation will go to the board of aldermen.
