The building at 9737 Manchester Road, in Rock Hill, is set to reopen as Lulu Asian Kitchen, Sauce Magazine has reported.
It was previously Red Lotus Spa & Bistro —a nail salon/restaurant combo, Mi Linh (Vietnamese dishes) before that, and China Inn in the decades before that.
The menu will include Americanized and authentic Chinese dishes, and steam buns and pot stickers.
The new restaurant’s owner, Julia Li, started out with a food truck and at Dierberg’s. Her mother’s first job in the US after emigrating from China in 1993 was at China Inn, Sauce reports.

Chinese people (i.e. people visiting from China) have told me that the Lulu’s on Olive has the best dim sum in St. Louis. I am looking forward to this opening!
Correct name is LuLu, not Luu. These are the owners of LuLu Chinese Restaurant on Olive, and of the LuLu Express in Dierberg’s.
Thanks Mantelli, Do you happen to know if the older woman pictured here was the woman who ran China Inn with her two sons? Just curious.
I don’t recognize them, and never went to China Inn.
OK thanks. It was a good place.
The woman who owned China Inn went back to Korea to retire
Thanks. That’s nice to hear.
Shocked that the nail salon bistro combination didn’t work out. Glad its not another chicken joint…
But you would order a chicken dish I’m sure
