Residents of Wise and Bellevue avenues in Richmond Heights thought they heard gunshots around 9:45 p.m. Saturday, but it turned out to be Mardi Gras parties with fireworks, according to a dispatcher.
A Wise Avenue resident reported on Facebook that she heard eight gunshots and others said they heard them too. She said it sounded very close.
The dispatcher, when called, said police had rounded up the partiers. They took some home and sent others on their way.
