Police: baby formula, credit card thefts

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Jan. 4

  • While monitoring traffic in the area of West Bruno at Maplewood Commons, police located an occupied stolen vehicle from the City of Woodson Terrace Police Department. The occupants inside the vehicle were arrested for tampering.

Tuesday, Jan. 5

  • Police began an investigation into a lost wallet from a Maplewood Commons business. Police were able to locate the owner of the wallet a short time later, however learned that the credit card in the wallet had been compromised. This investigation is  ongoing.
  • Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Blendon at Manchester Road. Over the course of the traffic stop, police found an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. The driver was subsequently arrested for the offense along with a felony probation violation.

Wednesday, Jan.6

  • Police began an investigation into a stealing that occurred at a Maplewood Commons business on Dec. 4. Police were later able to identify an adult female suspect who had stolen approximately $230 worth of baby formula. The suspect was entered into the police database as wanted for stealing under $500.

Sunday, Jan. 10

  • Police began an investigation into a vehicle property damage in the 7400 block of Manchester Road.  This investigation is ongoing.
